The University of Jaén, a partner of LIFE Comp0live, announced the results obtained in recent months within the framework of the project on the revaluation of olive pruning waste, from which fiber is obtained for new biocomposites.
On May 31, the International Olive Council (IOC) hosted a new OLEA meeting at its Madrid headquarters, organized by the International Projects Office (OFIPI) of the Vice-rectorate for Research at the University of Jaén (UJA).
In the meeting, which was entitled ‘Fighting the climate change in the olive sector’, the UJA, a member of LIFE Comp0live, announced the results obtained in the months in the framework of this project that works on the development of a new generation of biocomposites based on olive fiber for the manufacture of automotive components, outdoor furniture and home furnishings.
The day had around thirty face-to-face attendees, registering more than 160 registrations to follow the presentations online simultaneously from countries such as Albania, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Germany , Greece, Honduras, Iran, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Palestine, Peru, Portugal, Tunisia or Turkey.
